By the end of the 2014 season I expect the Miami Dolphins to have the worst record in the NFL and perhaps be in contention for the overall No. 1 pick in the 2015 draft.

Somehow this Dolphins team overachieved in 2013 with all of the distractions of bullying and team turmoil, and finished with an 8-8 record.

If you're considering taking Miami Dolphins players, especially running backs, I urge you to proceed with caution.

Center Mike Pouncey will be sidelined for about half the season after having hip surgery late in the summer. When you want to run the ball, you need a great center calling the plays and I think the loss of Pouncey could just be devastating to any kind of running attack the Dolphins try to mustre.

A running attack that wasn't very good last season was supposed to get a shot in the arm from former Denver back, Knowshon Moreno,

Moreno had off-season knee surgery and he showed up to camp a little bit pudgy and out of shape. That doesn't bode well for Moreno who probably had a slight edge on Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas for the starting RB slot.

Does any other team have the same kinds of questions at RB?

Let's break it down:

Knowshown Moreno 2013 - 16 games, 241 carries, 1038 yards rushing (4.3 avg) and 10 td's

Receiving: Moreno 60 catches, 548 yards and 3 td's.

Moreno benefited on some of those yards receiving from being in the Peyton Manning system. While he had a great year, the Broncos thought so little of them they let him go to free agency.

What the Dolphins had in 2013.

Lamar Miller - 177, 709 (4.0 avg.) 2 td's, receiving 26, 170 and 1 td

Daniel Thomas - 107, 406 (3.7 avg.) 4 td's, 15, 63 2 td's

The Dolphins were pedestrian in the run game last year and Miller looked like a backup and Thomas like a 3rd string guy. I don't think either of them have any fantasy value this season unless Moreno gets hurt or something miraculous happens to the pair in preseason.

What the experts say:

CBS - Jeremy Eisenberg - 33rd

CBS - Dave Richard - 37th

Yahoo - 45th, Yahoo also had Lamar Miller at 31st.

I'm not high on any of these runninb backs from Miami.

I thought Moreno really benefited last season from playing with Peyton Manning. Even if he's healthy and in shape he's not going to get that many touches.

Bad offensive line means the running game isn't going to get established and that means yards per carry are down for whoever is running the ball.

I have the Dolphins as the worst team in football this season.

I will say this. Monitor the preseason and find out whether Moreno or Miller is getting the bulk of the carries. Then, on draft night, don't even think about touching any of thes guys until the 11th round as a zzzz pick as you're waiting for the party to start.

Dolphins finish 3-12...Don't draft a Dolphin.
